Golden Turmeric Latte

We couldn’t resist sharing another of Justine’s delicious recipes from , The mymuybueno Cookbook, this time a deliciously warming drink full of benefits of turmeric. Enjoy!
"I discovered the healing powers of turmeric when our dog Hank had problems with his joints, and a friend suggested giving him a turmeric mix with his food. It worked, and my first thought was that we really need to be drinking this too. I found the flavour hard to palate, so like the matcha, I add other spices which make it more enjoyable."
Ingredients:
- 250ml almond milk
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cardamom pod
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- Pinch of ground ginger
- Grind of black pepper
Method:
1. Heat the almond milk in a saucepan on a low temperature. Add in the turmeric, cinnamon stick, cardamom pod, maple syrup, ginger and pepper and stir frequently for about 3 minutes until hot.
2. Remove from the heat and take out the cardamom pod and cinnamon stick. You can save these and reuse them both for another three cups.
3. Froth the top of the milk for a few seconds with an electric milk frother. Pour into a mug and add more maple syrup to taste if required. Stir well.
